So as to carry forward the spirit of May 4th Movement and endeavor to be the advanced elements among young students, at 7.15 A.M. on 4th May, at the Lecture Theatre, Anqing Foreign Language School’s Youth League Committee observed the grand opening of the 2018 New League Members’ League Joining Ceremony. The grand event was hosted by student Wang Jing from Class 1, Grade 8. All the new league members from each class and each grade attended the ceremony. Also in attendance were Anqing Foreign Language School’s General Party Branch Secretary Sun Yijun, Director Wang Changliang with the Teaching Affair Office as well as teacher Qian Feng with the Youth League Committee.
Initially, in the loud and clear chorus, we raised the curtain of the ceremony. Then, all the attendees rose up and sang the league song. Afterwards, the host Wang Jing led all the students present to make a pledge. For one thing, student Fang Sichen from Class 4, Grade 8 made a speech on behalf of the new league members, expressing that he would study harder after joining the Youth League and observe the League Constitution and various disciplines. For another, old league member representative Hu Yuhan from Class 2, Grade 9 called upon all the league members to come down to earth, study with an open mind, keep moving on and use practical actions to add glories to the Youth League Committee under the leadership of the league organization. Last but not the least, Director Wang Changliang delivered a keynote speech on behalf of Anqing Foreign Language School and the Youth League Committee in which he expressed his expectations for the new league members in that he hoped both the new and old league members were supposed to integrate the spirit of May 4th Movement into their lives and set strict demands on themselves based on the League Constitution, the daily code of conduct for middle school students in addition to the rules of the school to genuinely become advanced members among the contemporary youth and carry forward the Youth League spirit.
